Which paternity test to do?
Every requirement is different for DNA Testing; our clients need special DNA paternity testing options for their unique situations and necessities. There may be a lot of reasons because
of which you may need the determination of paternity soon as possible—even before the child is born. Some other reasons for the testing may be like; the father is missing or deceased and cannot be tested. You may
prefer to collect the sample by yourself and ship it to us if the testing is not for a legal purpose. We may start the testing as soon as we receive the sample and initial fees.
Following special paternity testing options are available to meet our clients’ different testing needs:
Prenatal Test
Before the child is born (Who wish to know the paternity or other biological relationship before the birth of child may provide us the prenatal samples collected by a registered Obestrician or
Gynecologist). Patients who wish to determine paternity during pregnancy may take a prenatal paternity test. Like a standard paternity test, the prenatal test compares the baby’s DNA profile with that of the alleged father. Because the baby’s DNA is set at conception, the prenatal test gives the same conclusive results as the standard paternity test.
To obtain samples from the unborn child, an OB-GYN uses either of two procedures depending on the stage of pregnancy: chorionic villi sampling (CVS) or amniocentesis.

Self Collection:
In-home collection (This test is suitable for those who want to take a DNA Test just for peace of mind or to answer family questions and don’t require legally defensible results for court or any justice related
matters. Interested persons may collect the sample at a place of your convenience.
Strict Chain of custody
Being one of the highest accredited laboratories, DDC and BDRC do the Paternity tests which pass a strict chain of Custody documentation. Being AABB accredited laboratory the
results will be defensible in court and other govt. agencies for all the legal matters which requires DNA Testing.
This process proves and satisfies the following legal requirements:
• Samples are collected by an impartial third party, such as a clinic or laboratory.
• The individuals tested are positively identified (i.e. they present a government-issued ID, and they are photographed for records.).
• The samples are carefully tracked and matched to each test participant throughout the entire DNA testing process.
DNA Test for legal matters requires samples to be collected in a strict chain of custody may be by a third neutral party. Persons participating for this test have to visit our sample collection facilities to provide the

• Complete Client Identification and Consent Form (the minor’s consent form should be signed by the legal guardian) – This can be done once you reach us or any other collection facility organized by us.

Buccal Swab Collection :
For DNA Test like paternity test to be started we collect the blood Samples or cheek cells. Samples are collected using the painless and simple buccal swab—similar to a cotton-tipped swab, but made of the special
material Dacron®. Unlike regular cotton swabs, Dacron® provides a consistent surface for sample collection and DNA extraction.

Blood Sample collection:
Please visit a registered and recognized pathology lab/Hospital and ask for 10ml blood collection for PCR analysis/DNA Testing. Once you receive the blood samples please ship it to our lab in dry ice/liquid nitrogen
packing.
*Patients/parties visiting BDRC branches for sample collection may be assisted by our own medical practicners/doctors.
. How to collect sample with BUCCAL SWAB:
Once you receive the swabs from us, the swab is rubbed against the inside cheek of the test participant, and loose cheek cells adhere to the swab. Steps to follow.
Open the envelope which you have received from us.
Fill the consent form.
Mark the name and other details of alleged father on the respective packet.
Get the swabs out from the plastic cover and destroy the plastic cover.
Rub two swabs on your right cheek one by one and hold it for 15-25 secs and pack it into the envelope of alleged father.
Rub two swabs on left right cheek one by one and hold it for 15-25 secs and pack it into the envelope of alleged father.
Close the envelope and seal it.
Open the envelope for Child and follow the same step which we did for collection of alleged father sample.
Open the envelope for Mother and follow the same steps which we did for alleged father and child’s sample collection.
Pack the envelopes in other separate envelopes.
Pack the small envelope into a big envelope and ship to our lab.
*Swabs shall not be packed in the plastic cover after the collection of the sample
*Consent forms shall be filled properly as per the details given on different envelopes.
WITH THE BUCCAL DNA COLLECTOR:
Once you receive the Buccal DNA Collector from us, after marking the name at the proper place the white portion is rubbed against the inside cheek of the test participant, and loose cheek cells adhere to the collector.

Steps to follow
1) Open the envelope which you have received from us
2) Fill the consent form
3) Mark the name of alleged father on the respective collector
4) Slide the notch upwards and rub 7 times against your right cheek and hold it for 15-25 secs and pack it into the envelope.
5) Slide the notch downwards so that the part where you collected the sample is hidden.
6) Close the envelope and seal it write the name of the participant
7) Use a new collector and follow the same step which we did for collection of alleged father sample
8) Use a new collector Mother and follow the same steps which we did for alleged father and child’s sample collection.
9) Pack the envelopes in other separate envelopes.
10) Pack the small envelope into a big envelope and ship to our lab.
*Consent forms shall be filled properly as per the details given on different envelopes.
DNA Test/Paternity test- Technical details?
The sample collector sends the swabs/Buccal DNA Collectors/ Blood to our laboratory in a sealed, tamper-evident package. When samples arrive in our laboratory, our staff checks to see if the package seal is intact.
Each sample is recorded into our database. When all the samples for a paternity test case have arrived, we start the DNA test, which follows the following five steps:
• Samples from each person are divided in two for Dual Process™. From this point on, two independent laboratory teams take the samples through the DNA testing process.
• DNA is extracted from the buccal swabs/blood/buccal DNA collector and purified.
• The extracted DNA is added to a special chemical mix for the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), a process that targets 16 specific locations in the DNA (called loci) and makes billions of copies of each
location.
• The products of PCR are analyzed to create a DNA profile, a genetic equivalent of a fingerprint for each tested party.
• The child’s DNA profile is compared with the alleged father’s, and statistical analysis is performed to determine the probability of paternity. A 0% probability of paternity represents an exclusion (the alleged
father is not the biological father) and at least a 99.99% probability represents an inclusion in a standard trio (the alleged father is the biological father).
DNA Test/Paternity Test Report
Once the samples have crossed all the safety measures from collection to transportation, the paternity test results are made ready within 3-15 working days. We release the test results immediately, as long as the
testing fees are fully paid and other documentations/forms are complete. Results are emailed to make it available for the clients/patients in the private cases and by first class mail in legal cases; If you want the results
